mac4DSTEM collects no personal data. The application performs all analysis on your own machine, has no user accounts, and sends nothing to me or to anyone else.
The application
mac4DSTEM is a local desktop application. It does not contain analytics, telemetry, advertising, crash reporting, or any other component that transmits information about you or your work.
- No data leaves your Mac. Datasets you open, the results you compute, and the parameters you choose are read from and written to your own storage only.
- No accounts. There is no sign-in, no licence server, and no activation.
- No tracking identifiers. The application does not generate or store a device or user identifier.
- No network requests. The application does not contact a server as part of normal operation.
The application runs inside the macOS App Sandbox. It receives access to a file only when you select it in a system Open or Save panel. Where it needs to reopen a file you chose earlier — for example to update a session sidecar — macOS stores a security-scoped bookmark for that specific file on your machine. Those bookmarks stay local and can be removed by deleting the application's container.
This website
The site is a static page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party fonts, scripts, or trackers. Nothing you do here is profiled or recorded by me.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, with DNS provided by Cloudflare. As a technical necessity of delivering any web page, the hosting provider processes your IP address and request metadata in server logs for security and operation. I have no access to those logs and cannot connect them to you. See the GitHub Privacy Statement and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — the legitimate interest in presenting a functioning, secure website.

Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to have its processing restricted, to object to processing, and to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, write to the address below.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, workplace, or the place of the alleged infringement.

If this policy changes, the revised version is published here with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting the application will accompany a release.
